The Samson Cree Nation is seeking a Samson Cree Nation member to serve as the Technician for the upcoming 2023 Samson Cree Nation Chief and Council Elections.
Scope of Work:
The duties of the Election Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
a) Communicate the Samson Election Law to the Department personnel appointed to assist the Electoral Officer;
b) Communicate the Samson Election Law to candidates and eligible voters;
c) Oversee the conduct of election personnel to ensure their duties are carried out in accordance to the Samson Election Law;
d) Attend and oversee electoral staff meetings, nomination meetings, and the election; and
e) Perform any duties and responsibilities incidental to overseeing the administration, nomination and election process on behalf of the eligible voters of Samson Cree Nation.
Qualifications:
The Technician must possess the following qualifications:
• Knowledgeable of the Samson Cree Nation Election Law.
• Possess the background and willingness to fulfil the requirements associated with a Technician as outlined in the Samson Cree Nation Election Law Schedule "A" - Roles and Responsibilities of the Technician.
• Political acumen - ability to recognize the political climate of the Samson Cree Nation and demonstrate neutrality and impartiality between the elected and the electors in the election process.
• Must not be seeking candidacy for the upcoming election(s),
• Must not be an employee of any program and service of the Samson Cree Nation.
• Able to devote sufficient time to the performance of duties as a Technician.
• Be a person of good character and reputation.

Particulars:
• This is a contracted position.
• Selection will be based on best value. Best value refers to the optimal combination of experience, knowledge, expertise, geographic location, performance, quality, time and cost.
• The successful applicant must be available to begin March 31, 2023 to June 30, 2023.
• The Nation will pay the contractor based on invoices to be processed on a bi-monthly basis unless otherwise agreed.
