One (1) Female Outreach Crisis Prevention Workers with the Ermineskin Brighter Futures department

CLOSING: June 5, 2024

A Crisis Prevention Worker is a mental health professional specializing in providing counseling and support services to individuals under emotional distress often caused by mental and behavioral issues, conducting interventions as needed. A Crisis Prevention Worker engages with clients of all ages, requiring them to be proactive at all times.

Job Duties:

1. Meet with clients to assess their progress, give support and discuss any difficulties or problems.

2. Review client background information, interview clients to obtain case history and prepare intake reports.

3. Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and needs.

4. Assist clients to sort out options and develop plans of action while providing necessary support and assistance.

5. Participate in the selection and admission of clients to appropriate programs.

6. Implement active life skills workshops, substance abuse treatment programs, behavior management programs, youth services programs and other community and social service programs under the supervision of social services or health care professionals.

7. Provide crisis intervention and emergency shelter services.

8. Implement and organize the delivery of specific services within the community.

9. Maintain contact with other social service agencies and health care providers involved with clients to provide information and obtain feedback on client’s overall progress.

10. Mobilize and coordinate volunteer resources and activities for a range of organizations such as human services agencies, health care facilities, arts and sports, etc.

11. Find placements for patients needing inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations and provide community referrals to those requiring lower levels of care.

12. Notify your supervisor if clarification of a policy, procedure or safe work practice is needed.

13. Use initiative to reduce risk and apply discretion to solve problems, within scope of authority.

Qualifications:

- Post Secondary Education Diploma or Degree in Social/Health Science disciplines, Human Services or combined education with several years of related experience

. - Successful completion of mandatory training requirements including but not limited to WHMIS, ASIST, NVCI and First Aide/CPR.

Custodian/Janitor with the Ermineskin Property Management department CLOSING: June 11, 2024

The Custodian will be under the supervision of the Property Management manager and will be responsible for keeping the building interiors clean and in an orderly condition. The duties will be carried out from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The custodian will perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, sweeping and mopping. Maintaining the cleanliness of washrooms daily, dusting all furniture and light fixtures, washing walls, glass, windows, removal of garbage and any other duties as required. The incumbent will report to the manager of any repairs and supplies when needed. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (excluding every second Friday) from 8:30am to 4:30pm total of sixtythree (63) hours bi-weekly, must be the one to arrive first and the last to leave.

Job Duties:

1. Spot-check each office upon arrival at work

2. Dust and sanitize all surfaces on a regular basis

3. Wash all glass, mirrors and walls in reception area, hallways, and washrooms

4. Vacuum all office rugs on a daily basis

5. Sweep and mop floors in offices, hallways and washrooms daily

6. Maintain washrooms on a daily basis; this includes sanitizing wash basins, disinfecting toilets, garbage removal, stocking toilet paper, paper towel and soap dispensary when necessary.

7. Monthly deep cleaning of washrooms such as sanitize in and around toilet, wipe the walls, scrub and sanitize sink area and floor around toilet

8. Maintain inventory and equipment of all cleaning supplies as needed

9. Refrain from disturbing or removing any personal items or other property within offices, desks, and surrounding area

10. Collect garbage in offices and dispose of any garbage from the building to the sanitary landfill site when needed

11. Keep EPM building and property in a clean and orderly condition at all times

12. Perform other duties as requested by the EPM manager

Job Qualifications:

➢ Minimum of Grade 10 or GED

➢ Minimum 1 year experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings

➢ Maintenance training/certification as asset

➢ Safety Tickets WHMIS, TDG, H2S & First Aid

➢ Must be self-motivated

➢ Communicate effectively both orally and written.

Director with the Ermineskin Health and Wellness department

CLOSING: June 17, 2024

Three (3) Year Contract*

The incumbent is responsible in overseeing the operations of Ermineskin Cree Nation departments under the Health & Wellness: Brighter Futures, Community Wellness, Community Events, Parks & Recreation and Arena. The Health & Wellness Director will ensure the division’s departments operate according to policies, budgets, and strategic plans. The Director will provide leadership and assist managers with all aspects of management i.e. planning, policy development and budget controls and act as a liaison between Managers and Tribal Administrator. The position is under the supervision of the Tribal Administrator.

Job Duties:

1. Manage and supervise management under the Health & Wellness Division: Brighter Futures, Community Wellness, Community Events, Parks & Recreation, and Arena.

2. Perform annual performance evaluations of management staff under the Health & Wellness division.

3. Provide and assist Managers with leadership, management and identifying specific skills development training based on evaluations.

4. Ensure that Managers comply with ECN Personnel Polices, finance policies, bylaws, and other program applicable policies within their departments and with their staff.

5. Coordinate monthly departmental meetings with Managers.

6. Ensure and coordinate annual strategic planning reviews for all Health & Wellness departments.

7. Ensure division managers develop annual work plans with goals/objectives from the department strategic plans.

8. Ensure department managers report on their work plans, goals/objectives in their quarterly reports.

9. Report monthly and quarterly to the Tribal Administrator on departmental activities and concerns.

10. Attending meetings as they relate to Community Services or as directed by the Tribal Administrator and the Chief and Council.

11. Participate in the HUB meetings and ensure Health & Wellness managers affiliated with HUB also attend the HUB meetings consistently.

12. Assist and support managers with budget controls, budget development and the annual budget process.

13. Closely monitor department budgets and make recommendations for improvements.

14. Approve, recommend, review, evaluate and approve documents, briefs, and reports by division managers.

15. Participate and support management staff with their reports to the membership at general meetings.

16. Responsible for follow-up and implementing directives from Chief and Council and the Tribal Administrator as it relates to departments within the Health & Wellness division.

17. Perform all other related duties as directed by the Tribal Administrator. Qualifications:

• Post Secondary education in Administration, Management, Business, or related field.

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in management or experience in a supervisory capacity.

• Administration/management training is priority with experience in maintaining a Strategic Plan.

• Proven strong leadership and giving direction.

• Experience preparing annual budgets, budget maintenance and analysis.

• Knowledge of computers such as Word, database, and spreadsheets.

• Proven excellent communications skills – in person and in writing.

• Fluency in Cree language is an asset.
