POSITION: STATIONARY CLERK
DEPARTMENT: CENTRAL REGISTRY
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Central Registry Manager. The Stationary clerk buys goods, supplies, services and ensures that they are of the quantity, quality, price and availability required by Samson Cree Nation
Duties and Responsibilities
· Consult with the other departments in the organization to determine good (ex. Equipment, office supplies) and service requirements.
· Oversee the process of issuing request information and proposals and tendering contract t ensure that the process is fair, competitive, legal and provides the best value for the organization.
· Purchase the right quality and quantity, at the right time and price, from the best possible source.
· Administer contracts for the supply of goods, services and space.
· Trace shipments, follow up on undelivered goods and resolve problems and disputes.
· Arrange the payment of duty and freight charges.
· Assist with preparations and administration of budgets and contracts.
· Use the internet and read promotional literature such as catalogues, local newsletters, etc.
· Inspect samples submitted by suppliers.
· Attend trade shows, conventions and seminars.
· Negotiate with the supplier’s representatives and end users.
Qualification:
· Submit a Criminal Records check.
· Maybe subject to a drug test.
· Valid class 5 driver's license, Reliable transportation.
· Good oral and written communications.
· Good organization skills.
· Digital literacy, Software competency.
· Good negotiation skills and the ability to work with many different people.
· The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· A good memory for detail. The ability to adapt to a changing environment.
· Must have a minimum of Grade 12 or GED.
· Must be punctual and reliable.
· Must be willing to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
