Position: Advertising & Marketing Representative

Summary:
Under the direction of the Hawk Radio Manager, this position is primarily responsible for helping businesses get their brand and messaging in front of our thousands of targeted local listeners. The Advertising & Marketing Representative is responsible for maintaining and growing client relationships, providing strong thought leadership, and driving business growth with a proactive approach.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide support for the Hawk Radio Manager,
• Work closely with the Disk Jockeys of Hawk Radio,
• Approach local businesses and offer tailored advertising products and solutions,
• Present custom advertising packages,
• Prepare compelling radio scripts,
• Close sales and submit orders in a timely manner,
• Follow up for repeat business,
• Develop and nurture your own client base with some leads provided by Hawk Radio, and Business Development,
• Regular planning, goal-setting, and submission of progress reports,
• purchasing or marketing items,
• Applying for related grants,
• Monthly Reports to the Business Development Senior Manager
Additional Responsibilities:
• Schedule meetings as required, report accordingly,
• Represent SCN at external meetings, forums and workshops as assigned,
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with policies, standards, protocols and procedures of the SCN as directed,
• Contribute effectively as a team member to the overall plans and objectives of SCN,
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position, and as assigned by the Consultation Coordinator, and/or the Business Development Senior Manager.
Knowledge and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of and established connections in Maskwacis, Ponoka, & Wetaskiwin; connections within the Indigenous Alberta are also valued.
• Experience working in Indigenous communities and a demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Indigenous worldviews, cultural practices and protocols,
• Previous experience in advertising sales (radio, television, print) with a proven track record of success would be an asset.
• Passion for news, rock music, and local talk
• Independent, motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to record accurate notes, and record keeping,
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong active listening skills,
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful and effective relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts,
• Has an understanding of Samson Cree Nation culture, demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity towards SCN cultural traditions with the ability to use sound judgment and diplomacy in high stress/conflict situations,
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality at all times,
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or similar field
• Clear Criminal Record Check

Department: Nipisihkopahk Wellness & Social Development Position: Human Resources (HR) Advisor
Summary The HR Advisor will work under the direction of the Senior Manager of Nipisihkopahk Wellness & Social Development (NWSD). The incumbent will also work closely with the Managers under the NWSD pillar. The HR Advisor is responsible for the overall coordination of the human resources aspect of NWSD.
Role and Responsibilities: ★ Creating and/or revising job description for the NWSD employee’s ★ Posting for new/vacant positions, ★ Provide interview questions for new positions, ★ Onboarding new employees, this includes; Oath of Confidentiality, Employee information sheets, letter of offer, ★ Provide support to the Managers in the area of: ➢ Drafting letters regarding employment matters, ➢ Providing advice on employment matters, ➢ Ensure all matters are addressed in line with the Nipisihkopahk Employment Policy and employment law, ★ Create a filing system for all NWSD employees, ensuring each file contains; ➢ Letter of offer, ➢ Employee information sheet, ➢ Oath of confidentiality, ➢ Resume, ➢ Credentials, ➢ Performance evaluations, ➢ disciplinary/promotion documentation ➢ Ensure paperwork flows to the proper level of authority, ★ Attend meetings when required, ★ Submit reports when required, ★ Attend relevant training to stay current in Human Resources, ★ Provide guidance to employees and managers in NWSD on HR policies and procedures.

Position: Indigenous Off-Diesel Initiative Officer
Department: Smart Renewable Energy Program
Summary:
Under the direction of the Smart Renewable Energy Program Coordinator, this position is primarily responsible for assisting the coordinator with the off-diesel initiative project. The Indigenous Off-Diesel Initiative (IODI) Officer will develop, coordinate, and implement initiatives with the key focus of providing and gathering information and reporting. Assist the SREP Coordinator with representing and advancing Samson Cree First Nation’s interest through liaising, tracking, coordinating and communicating with external stakeholders in matters related to smart renewable energy processes. Will be responsible for supporting preparation of reporting materials for SCN Leadership and develop and participate in SCN agreement implementation as it relates to the IODI Project.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide support for the SREP Coordinator,
• Monitor the IODI project,
• Submit weekly reports to the SREP Coordinator,
• Submit Monthly reports to the Business Development Senior Manager,
• Maintain all records, hard copies and electronic files,
• Take the 20/20 Catalyst Program,
• Willing to work remotely,
• Willing to travel to Maskwacis when required for meetings,
• Responsible for maintaining all inventory of supplies, and making orders when necessary
• Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments
• Schedule and coordinate community engagements
• Travel to and from Smallboys Camp (Mountain Cree Camp) as required for the IODI Program
• Perform any administrative duties as related to the IODI Program
• Perform any administrative duties as assigned by the SREP Coordinator
