Summary: The Client Support Worker is responsible for providing necessary support for members of Samson Cree Nation in times of need. This position requires the incumbent to work a flex schedule and be on call 24/7. The incumbent will be required to both take direction and work intuitively to support the completion of the community wellness goals and objectives in a professional and culturally appropriate manner.
Responsibilities:
❖ Develop linkages and maintain effective working relationships with other community services/agencies,
❖ Ensure data is updated on Path DMS, forms are properly filled and filed, reports and other necessary documentation is accurate and submitted in the timelines mandated by the department,
❖ Research information provided by SCN members to authenticate need prior to taking action,
❖ Identify issues and barriers to accessing services with individuals and families and make the necessary referrals that may include; mental health, addictions, suicide prevention, etc.
❖ Conduct community and environmental assessments where feasible to identify and understand emerging issues, service gaps and opportunities to build capacity,
Required Organizational Skills:
● Maintaining Oath of Confidentiality,
● Knowledge in relevant organizational policies, standards and procedures,
● Apply Cree culture, values, traditions and teachings in transactions with members. ● Strong administrative duties, computer skills, telephone and photocopier skills. Education:
➔ Minimum Grade 12,
➔ Experience working in a demanding position,
➔ Knowledge of the Cree language and culture,
➔ Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and strong computer skills,
➔ Facilitation skills will be an asset.
