The First Nations Health Consortium Ltd. of Alberta (FNHC) is currently seeking to fill the role of a Registration Coordinator. The Registration Coordinator provides one-to-one assistance to families who request support with system navigation specific to Treaty Registration applications and its required documentation. This position will be available on a term basis to March 31, 2024 but may be extended. Summary of Key Responsibilities - Provide support and continuation of FNHC’ Enhanced Service Coordination throughout the province of Alberta - Support First Nation families and individuals with navigating the Treaty Status Registration process; Applications, Guarantor Forms, Statutory Declarations, assisting families with obtaining the right documents, and problem-solving complex applications - Connecting with Indigenous Services Canada – Registration Services to ensure the applications sent were complete and no additional documentation is required. Requesting status updates when required. - Conduct research and regularly review procedures that will advise on improvements related to registration services - Develop and maintain partnerships that improve access to services for First Nations children. - Promote awareness of available FNHC services to assist families with Registration applications for all First Nations members in Alberta - Complete required reporting in accordance with established timelines - Other duties as required Education - Education in Human Services - Bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider a combination of lesser education and experience Qualifications - Two or more years of experience working closely with First Nations Communities and Members - Previous experience in an advocacy role is considered an asset - Demonstrated cultural knowledge and competencies - High degree of discretion with confidential information - Highly detail-oriented, organized and able to balance multiple priorities - Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and databases) - Excellent communication skills - Position requires occasional travel - Driver’s License, Criminal Record Check, Child Welfare Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required - Competitive salary to commensurate with education and experience along with a generous benefits package will be provided.
