POSITION: One (1) Water & Wastewater Operator Apprentice
DEPARTMENT: TIPAHASKAHN KAMIK
JOB SUMMARY:
The water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for the Water Treatment Plant in order to ensure that residents have safe and clean water in accordance with federal, territorial and municipal legislations, policies, and standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
· Startup and shut down of operational plants with periodical operations checks of plant(s) equipment.
· Perform preventive maintenance; lubricate, operating adjustments, cleaning and painting equipment
· Must be in good health and able to lift 55 pounds minimum.
· Operates and maintains bot ongoing and emergency (urban) water treatment/wastewater treatment and sludge disposal equipment.
· Carries out sampling, testing, and calculations and refers these to qualified maintenance personnel.
· May supervise staff on a temporary basis.
· Perform other related duties entailed in Job Description.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
· Level 1 certificate issued by Alberta Environment in both Water and Wastewater Treatment.
· Valid Class 5 Drivers License
· May be subject to a drug test.
