Employment Opportunity-Integrated Family Services: Parents Place Coordinator
Summary
Under the supervision of the Integrated Family Services Manager. The Maskwacis Parents Place Coordinator supports Four Nations families with Special Needs Children Aged 0-17. Ensures health security and creates support programs to include special needs children and their families. The coordinator is a Liaison between families and community supports and stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Ø Coordinate and deliver programs and activities for children with special needs and their families
Ø Provide support, advocacy, and referrals to families navigating health, education, and social systems
Ø Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with parents/caregivers and service providers
Ø Facilitate workshops, parenting programs, and support groups
Ø Build partnerships with internal departments, schools, health professionals, and external agencies
Ø Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and reporting requirements
Ø Assist families in accessing funding supports, assessments, and specialized services
Ø Promote cultural teachings and incorporate traditional practices into programming
Ø Organize community events and awareness initiatives related to special needs supports
Ø Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
® Diploma or degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Early Childhood Development, or a related field
® Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children with special needs and their families
® Knowledge of First Nation culture, traditions, and community values
® Experience in case management, program coordination, or family support services
® Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
® Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
