The Respite Worker reports to the Respite Lead. The Respite Worker is primarily responsible for clients when the family members need relief. This position requires the incumbent to work a flex schedule and may include weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
❖ House cleaning for the client only,
❖ Meal preparations - prepare enough for the client to last the day,
❖ Some Activities of Daily Living ➔ help walk around to keep moving
❖ Advocate for the client for in home care ie plumbers, electricians, house repairs, ❖ Assist in bathing clients,
❖ Work with MHS for clients (equipment, etc)
❖ Medication pick up and drop off
❖ Wash floors, toilets, dishes
❖ Find resources ie mental health,
❖ After hour care (on call) ie when client gets sick, or when care is needed
❖ Food hamper delivery
❖ Report Elder abuse
❖ Call an ambulance when required,
❖ Ensure reports are completed in a timely manner.
Required Organizational Skills:
● Must be reliable,
● Maintain Oath of Confidentiality and ensure safekeeping of records,
● Maintain respectful, cooperative working relationships to contribute to the seamless delivery of services to clients,
● Knowledge in relevant legislation and organizational policies, standards and procedures,
● Applying Cree culture, values, traditions and teachings into programming where possible.
Education:
● Health Care Aide Certification would be an asset
● Minimum Grade 12, ,

Job Description: Recreation Worker Reports to: SYSD Manager The Recreation Worker assists in the promotion of Recreation programs for Samson Cree Nation. Duties and Responsibilities:
● Maintains safe and clean equipment and facility,
● Support the SYSD Recreation Policy, Sr. Manager and SCN Council,
● Support further training in the recreation field,
● Develop and evaluate options regarding equipment and facilities,
● Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information trends,
● Prepare monthly inventory,
● Report any repairs and restoration to management,
● Contribute to team effort.
Personal Responsibilities:
● Responsible for equipment set up of all recreation programs,
● Will monitor all recreation programs,
● Ensure the safety of all recreation equipment and areas,
● Ensure the cleanliness of recreation facilities,
● Ensure the cleanliness of all recreation vehicles,
● Ensure shift work schedules are followed accordingly.
Skills and Abilities:
● Demonstrate understanding of basic use and opportunities of recreational facilities, services and programs,
● Ability to correctly implement the activities associated with this position allows the community of Samson Cree Nation to provide Recreational service to the member of the community,
● Contributes to the positive perception of SYSD Recreation for the community. Qualifications:
● High school diploma or general education degree (GED),

Positions: Outreach Workers (2)
Reports to: Community Wellness Manager/Outreach Team Leader The Outreach Worker is responsible for promoting engagement of at-risk individuals and their families in the community and increasing access to opportunities. Responsibilities focus on referral services for at-risk individuals and include the support and encouragement necessary to help individuals make use of those referrals. Outreach services include linkages to other community programs and agencies to facilitate contacts and services that include; education, advocacy, employment needs, and mental health.
Responsibilities:
❖ Developing linkages and maintaining effective working relationships with other community services/agencies,
❖ Ensure data, forms, reports and other necessary documentation is accurate and submitted in the timelines outlined in the manuals,
❖ Organize and participate in public education seminars, workshops, groups and training for youth parents and service providers,
❖ Identify issues and barriers to accessing services with individuals and families,
❖ Conduct community and environmental assessments where feasible to identify and understand emerging issues, service gaps and opportunities to build capacity, Required Organizational Skills:
