The Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations (CT6FN) is a non-profit Political and Treaty Organization (PTO) that has been mandated by the Chiefs and Elders of Treaty No. 6 to advocate, protect, and enhance Treaty rights by monitoring legislation and policies that affect Treaty rights. The Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations (CT6FN) is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to help support the Confederacy of Treaty No.6. In this role, you will perform various administrative tasks to support our team. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Administrative Assistant will commit to working with the CT6FN team of technical and professional individuals to act as a united political voice for the First Nations who signed Treaty No. 6. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities • Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries courteously and professionally. • Record incoming and outgoing mail, distribute and file documents. • Assist with the flow of communication and maintain a detailed record of meeting minutes, agendas, and notices as required. • Maintain a clean and organized office environment, including managing office supplies, equipment, and facilities. • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements for staff members. • Prepare and distribute correspondence, memos, reports, and other documents as needed. • Assist with planning and coordinating office events, meetings, and conferences, including arranging logistics, preparing materials, and coordinating catering if necessary. • Provide administrative support for special projects, including research, data collection, and coordination of tasks as assigned. • Supported executive assistant in assembling meeting information packages and information sharing with chiefs.

Education, Qualifications, and Work Experience • Post-secondary certificate in a related field, i.e., office administration.

Child and Family Services Lead

Full-Time Term contract- 12 months

Pay Range: $65000.00-$70000.00.

The Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations (CT6FN) is a non-profit Political and Treaty Organization (PTO) that has been mandated by the Chiefs and Elders of Treaty No. 6 to advocate, protect, and enhance Treaty rights by monitoring legislation and policies that affect Treaty rights. The Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations (CT6FN) is seeking a dedicated Child and Family Services (CFS)Lead to engage with the Member Nations of the Confederacy of Treaty No.6. The CFS Lead will help member nations engage with provincial and federal governments on SLA renewal, analyze impacts and options, and advise on a path forward per communities’ visions that is in line with CHRT. As a key team member, you will have an excellent understanding of the existing governance and program models across Canada and support the development of major policy/strategic documents for the Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations (CT6FN). This position reports directly to the Director of Policy.

Responsibilities • Facilitate the development of new and amended policies and procedures in conjunction with other departments; research best practices in other jurisdictions, analyze existing policies, present alternatives for consideration, and draft language that reflects Treaty No. 6 Chiefs direction. • Support Treaty No. 6 chiefs in complying with its legislative framework and assist or lead policy evaluations on the Child and Family Services file. • Research information on all levels of government-related activities and politically sensitive issues, identifying and, where appropriate, preparing policy memos with strategic analysis and recommendations on significant developments. • Provide administrative support to the CT6FN Executive Team, including preparing briefing materials, motions, and speaking notes. • Provide speaking notes for elected officials and administration, as required. • Assist with corporate records management. • Manage project proposals, including researching issues and developing budgets and critical paths. • Monitor decisions and prepare briefings with recommendations on the three (3) levels of government legislation, regulations, and policies that impact CT6FN or as directed by the Treaty Six Chiefs.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – CFS LEAD | June 2024 Education, Qualifications, and Work Experience • A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible related experience, preferably in economic analysis or policy development. • Experience in a policy-related field across various areas, including non-profit, government and community. • You have experience working with Indigenous people and organizations to gather input and build consensus. • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to cultivate a diverse environment for the exchange of ideas. • Experience developing correspondence and briefings for senior-level management and preparing and presenting policy research findings. • Experience developing intergovernmental partnerships, including ISC and other related federal and provincial departments and their various programs and initiatives related to First Nations. • Demonstrated professional or academic research experience. • Dependability and strong work ethic. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret material and policies for general and First Nation audiences. • Possess excellent team building, listening, coaching, and group facilitation skills, and must have creative problem resolution skills. • Knowledge of data sources, current literature, and emerging trends and developments in First Nations issues and rights. • Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment. • The ability to communicate in one of the affiliated First Nations of the Confederacy (Cree, Nakoda, Dene, Saulteaux) is a definite asset. • Preference will be given to Treaty Six First Nation Members. .
