The AMO Society provides child and youth protection services for the Louis Bull Tribe. The AMO Society provides prevention services and resources for the primary principle of keeping families together. It is our belief that supporting the family and parent/guardian of an Awasisahk should be a preferred way of protecting the child and keeping families together.
The Assessor will report directly to the Intervention Manager. The AMO Law places a great emphasis on assessment of children and families in determining the safety of the child, the need for intervention and the type of intervention required building on the strengths of the family. The model of practice is based on the philosophy of keeping families together. Assessment, engagement and collaboration are cornerstones of the AMO Law.
Qualifications:
· Must have a Social Work Diploma. Will look at Human Service Experience. Any combination of training, education, and experience in social services delivery employment, particularly involving support for youth and families.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience working in protection services
· Preferred knowledge working with Aboriginal youth in school or community settings
· Strong communication skills and strong ability to anticipate and address problems.
· Knowledge of the Cree culture and language would be an asset.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail and an ability to work collaboratively.
Requirements:
· Certification/Diploma/Degree verification
· Three references letters (one from your previous employer)
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, and provide a Driver’s abstract, and proof of two-million-dollar liability
· Reliable transportation, proof of registration & insurance of personal vehicle
· Child Welfare Check
· Criminal Record check
· Vulnerable Sector Screen.

Employment Opportunity – Intake Worker

Reporting to the Intervention Manager the Intake Worker initiates services for people through a comprehensive intake process, provides referrals to people to various organizations and programs and provides support and advocates for children, youth and their families.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Intake appointment.
· Meet with person and screen for eligibility of AMO services.
· Complete required paperwork and submit for eligibility decision.
· Discuss programs with the person and provide resources.
Individual Support:
· Support individuals while on waiting list through advocacy with the legal system, landlords and other services.
· Provide assistance to individuals based on their needs.
· Provide brief service as needed.
Administration:
· Create and organize files.
· Organize and track presentation statistics.
· Provide support to AMO on client data base system (e.g. Redmane).
Quality:
· Maintain quality-assurance activities by reviewing and evaluating program and services.
Qualifications:
· Social Work Diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 2 years’ experience working in Children’s Services, Social Worker or equivalent
· Will be required to receive appointment to become a Commissioner of Oaths and maintain this appointment
· Completion of delegation training

Reporting to the Prevention Manager of the Asikiw Mostos O’pikinawasiwin Child and Family Services Society, the Prevention Worker will provide services to the community members of Louis Bull Tribe. The Prevention Worker will work primarily with school aged children/youth by providing intervention/prevention services through education and awareness programs.
Qualifications:
· Must have a Social Work Diploma. Will look at Human Service Experience. Any combination of training, education, and experience in social services delivery employment, particularly involving support for youth and families.
