Duties and Responsibilities:
• Notify the Executive Director of the internal and external financial affairs that pertains to the operations of ACFSS.
• Generating financial reports
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with specified deadline.
• Ensure the Executive Director receives monthly print outs of the ACFSS Credit card transactions, for review and approval prior to payment.
• Process invoices, cheques for utility, tax, payroll, and other agency bills.
• Ensure the cheques are processed and signed in a timely manner
• Preparing and submitting pension forms, tax returns and employees’ compensation forms.
• Prepare balance sheets.
• Financial planning
• Budgeting
• Review and implement financial policies.
• Maintain accurate transaction records.
• Participate in financial audits.
• Assist with budget preparation.
• Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships.
• Reconcile bank statements.
• Update internal systems with financial data.
• Ensuring there is sufficient funds for day-to-day operations.
• Work closely with the Executive Director, Management, and Board of Directors.
• Have knowledge in accounting.
• Have knowledge in data management and processing
• Be advanced in computer technology
• Be able to take direction
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all clients, coworkers, service providers, and community members
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Should know and adhere to the code of conduct and ethics of the organization.
• Willing to attend training that pertains to job duties, as required by ACFSS Qualifications
â–ª University Degree in Accounting required.
â–ª Certified General Accountant accreditation preferred.
â–ª Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller. â–ª Minimum of five (5) years of general accounting experience required.
