This is a seasonal position from early May to the end of August with the possibility of extension into the fall. This position involves: • Working away from home, in the field, for extended periods • Herbicide application and weed management • Weed identification and record keeping • Inventory and equipment management • Equipment operation and maintenance • Quality customer contact and public relations Conditions of employment: • Be 18 years of age or older • Be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test • Have valid class 5 driver’s license for at least 2 years • Provide a driver’s abstract suitable to our insurance • Standard First Aid Level C certification • H2S Alive • CSO/CSTS 2020 These certifications are an added bonus: • UTV Safety Training • Herbicide Applicator License (BC, AB, SK, MB) • Wildlife/Bear Awareness • Class 1 or 3 driver’s license • Confined space We want people who: • Have strong written and verbal communication skills • Have a great attitude and are safety focused • Are in good health, bondable and energetic • Are willing to work with others outdoors for long hours with overtime Expected compensation for full season participation is as follows (this estimate is based on previous seasons; staff are paid hourly). Wages are $19-25 per hour depending on experience. First year VMT $14,000-$18,000 plus meal allowance paid over the course of the season Second year VMT $16,000-$22,000 plus meal allowance paid over the course of the season Third year VMT $19,000-$24,000 plus meal allowance paid over the course of the season Accommodations and meal allowances are provided while working away from home base.
