Shutdown General Labour

We are looking for General Labourers for an upcoming shutdown in Fort McMurray, shifts will be day or night.

Duties include: loading and unloading tubes into a primary reformer that are open at the top, with the opening roughly 1’ above the deck, the tubes are 43’ deep, utilizing 2” vacuum hose and will be vacuuming the material out of each tube until empty, then verifying via video camera that they are 100% clean.

• Shift length will be September 21st to September 28th (Opportunity for other shutdown work after this project).

• 12-hour shifts, overtime after 8 hours and straight OT on the weekend.

• Camp accommodation provided.

• Travel from Edmonton to Fort McMurray provided.

• 16 hours of paid online training, must be completed before starting shift.

• 4 hour site orientation will be paid.

• We can pay tax free if individuals have their status card and have an address on reserve.

Must have: CSTS and CSO safety ticket • H2S Alive, Confined Space Energy and Fall Protection would be an asset (Energy Safety Canada) • Able to pass a 10 panel lab based pre-employment drug and alcohol test. • Previous industrial experience is a must. • If some has forklift experience and their certification, this would be a huge plus.

Heavy Equipment Operators (Dozer and Excavator)

• Operate Heavy Equipment in a congested work environment, maintaining proper awareness of all surroundings.

• Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment, and perform minor repairs to equipment.

• Conduct pre-operational inspections on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment.

• Ensure proper and safe storage of equipment.

• Understand and mitigate ground disturbance challenges while operating.

• Is expected to operate all equipment in a safe and highly efficient manner.

• Ensure equipment is well maintained at all times. • Follow all safety protocols and policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience of 3 years on working an Industrial Construction site with heavy equipment is preferred.

• Clean Class 5 driver’s license

• Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team.

• Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision.

• Ability to work a flexible work schedule including different shifts and overtime when needed.
