POSITION: Program Coordinator


Position Summary:

The program coordinator will multitask and manage several aspects of program planning and/or project management and execution. The program coordinator is responsible for the program budget, managing communications with the public on social media and via email or telephone. The program coordinator is responsible for the success of a wide variety of programs offered by the Maskwacis Cree Tribal Council.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning and implementation of programs

  • Managing administrative tasks and personnel for the program

  • Manage and monitor the program's budget and maximize cost-effectiveness

  • Solve any problems that may arise while implementing the programs

  • Schedule agendas, itineraries, and time management of the program's activities

  • Prepare funding applications for grants and other sources

  • Manage communications with all relevant external stakeholders

  • Other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Administration, Office Management, Communication or a relevant field

  • Facilitator training

Experience:

  • Experience & ability in facilitation, itinerary and communications/public communications

  • Two (2) years' experience in the administrative field

Skills:

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and time management capabilities for planning and meeting programs/project timelines to completion

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of program planning and implementation

  • Budgeting and financial analysis and reporting abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications

  • Knowledge of programs and services offered from the Maskwacis Cree Nations and surrounding area

  • Knowledge and ability to understand and speak Cree is an asset

Working Conditions:

Must have own (reliable) transportation and hold a valid Alberta (class 5) drivers license. The Program Coordinator must be able to travel on short notice, have own vehicle insurance.

SALARY: Shall be negotiated based on experience and qualifications
