Pê Sâkâstêw Centre, Correctional Service Canada is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Cleaning Services Officer in Maskwacîs, Alberta. The successful individual will be placed on a term position for a period of one (1) year, with the possibility of extension.
EDUCATION: • Successful completion of three years of secondary school OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in one or more of the following fields: Providing cleaning or maintenance services, Handling services, Warehousing, Shipping and receiving, Purchasing and distribution in commercial, residential setting, multi-residential or institutional facilities. Experience providing cleaning, housekeeping, or maintenance services in commercial, residential, multi-residential, or institutional facility settings. • Experience working in a correctional environment. • Experience in the operation, maintenance or repair of industrial cleaning equipment. • Experience in the supervision and training of individuals. • Experience in ordering and distributing commercial supplies and equipment. • Experience in the proper techniques and methods to clean up bodily fluids or biohazard spills. • Experience in the proper techniques and methods to clean up hazardous materials. • Experience with different types of recycle programs. • Experience in pest control.
ABILITIES: • Ability to use various computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to support tasks related to cleaning and maintenance services. The successful applicant must be able to obtain Reliability Clearance from the Government of Canada. This clearance will be obtained prior to any work beginning by the successful applicant. Applicant must be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 25 kg.
