Summary


The Pharmacy Assistant will be responsible to help aid & support in the dispensary and front store operations of Samson Management (2009) Ltd Roots & Berries Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Assistant will report directly to the Business Manager of Roots and Berries Pharmacy.


Duties & Responsibilities:

· Assist pharmacists by compounding, packaging and labeling pharmaceutical products, pill pack assembly, prescription assembly, data entry

· Inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products

· Assist in front store operations

o Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)

o Cash handling responsibilities

o Operate cash register

· Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries

· Schedule professional clinical services (i.e., medication reviews, health risk assessments)

· Administrative Duties will include but not be limited to, cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks & manual third parties

· Assist with general cleaning and maintaining of entire store.

· Make deliveries on behalf of the business.

· Provide excellent Customer Service, by greeting all internal and external customers; provide information and ensure customer needs are met.

· Adhere to and implement all applicable company policies and standards

· Answer phones using proper telephone etiquette, answer all incoming calls; relay calls and message taking.

· Any other duties as assigned by the Business Manager


Working Conditions

· This position is situated in a climate-controlled store. The pharmacy assistant is required to be on their feet for most of the work day and may be required to lift up to 10 kilograms. Standard hours of work are 9am to 5pm. You may be required to work in excess of normal business hours.


Position Requirements

ü Minimum Grade 12 completion or GED

ü Valid Class 5 Drivers license

ü Criminal Record Check

· An interest in furthering education in the pharmaceutical field (Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacists)

· Previous experience an asset


Job Standards

· Ability to work independently or part of a team

· Professionalism

· Ability to set and meet deadlines

· Valid Driver License

Employment Opportunity

This position offered is Regular Full-Time with a three month probationary period. Successful candidate may have the opportunity to continue education in the field of Pharmacy Technician if desired and qualified.
